The Kibler Lumber Wings Camp is a residential camp on the Edge of Appalachia Preserve, just outside of Lynx, Ohio. It is administered by The Cincinnati Museum Center. Students stay at the camp for four days. During those four days, they participate in a variety of outdoor activities that are designed to give the students a better appreciation and understanding of birds throughout our hemisphere as well as conserving key lands that support those birds at risk.
Students who receive a Kibler Lumber Wings Camp Scholarship are able to attend the camp program for free. The scholarships are made possible by a generous gift from Kibler Lumber. The scholarship includes transportation from the Kibler Lumber store located in Mt. Orab, Ohio, all meals, supplies, and instruction. All students have to bring clothing for the session and a sleeping bag or blanket. Students stay in the Rieveschl Chalet in the southern half of the preserve. The chalet is a comfortable, clean, modern house that can sleep up to twelve students.
Students must be a resident or attend school in one of the counties in Kibler Lumber's market area including, but not limited to, Adams, Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette, Green, and Highland in Ohio; and Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Mason, Robertson, and Rowan in Kentucky. Students must be between nine and twelve years old and have an interest in learning about nature and science.
